For 2019, Roll & Hill sought to create an open and monumental installation while simultaneously providing an atmospheric backdrop for their product. The space is arranged around two large columns that support a faceted canopy. The breadth of each column subdivides the open plan into several ‘rooms’ while long consultation tables thread the space.
The boutique was arranged to maximize the surface area dedicated to display. In addition to displaying a seasonal jewelry collection, the space is used as a gallery to show a variety of art, ephemera, products and collaborations. The design draws upon Anna’s key influences such as the geometry of Wiener Werkstätte and the colors and movement found in the Southwest United States.
The building’s original stamped tin ceiling is exposed through a series of geometric coves that add general illumination and volume.
In this iteration of the showcase, HW arranged columns at specific points along the axes of a gridded canopy to create a series of subtly interlinked rooms. The ephemeral qualities of this softly colored space were exaggerated through a wash of ethereal light from scrim-covered ceiling coffers.
Building on Nowhere FC’s lifestyle brand, we developed the ‘Football Cafe’ which uses ambiguous Mediterranean-influenced forms and materials to create a space that references travel and football culture. A series of stucco plaster archways act as spatial divisions, obscuring back-of-house equipment while simultaneously creating an illusion of depth.
